Where ideas ignite and transform into groundbreaking scientific discoveries

Juan Garrido-Deutelmoser

I am a first year PhD student at the University of Arizona. I come from Chile, a country renowned for its observatories. Despite this observational heritage, I have chosen a path in theoretical astrophysics, completing both a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Astrophysics at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

A Fast Second-order Solver for Stiff Multifluid Dust and Gas Hydrodynamics

Krapp, L., Garrido-Deutemoser, J., Benitez-Llambay, P., Kratter, M. K. | 2024 ApJS, 27,1,7 | ADS

    Sonification

Sonification of candidate planets and the dust component in the protoplanetary disk around star HD 163296, based on Garrido-Deutelmoser et al. 2023 simulations. The four candidate planets form a resonant chain with near-perfect orbital ratios: 3:4 (planets 1 and 2), 2:1 (planets 2 and 3), and 2:1 (planets 3 and 4), creating a steady, repeating pattern. The characteristic crescent-shaped dust clump shares the orbit of planet 2, also contributing to the resonant harmony.
